Learning a new skill or changing an old habit is not an overnight process.
Whether you just brought a new puppy home or have had your dog for years, teaching new skills or struggling with unwanted behaviors, private virtual training is a perfect fit. I am here to provide you with all of the training and coaching support necessary to set you up for success and to help you build a relationship with your dog that is based in trust and understanding.
Together we will look at your dog through the holistic ethological lens of the L.E.G.S. framework. We will outline realistic goals and creative solutions that are appropriate for your dog’s breed, age and temperament, and are designed to enrich your dog’s mind and body. Training solutions will not include the use of force and coercion or “tools” that cause pain. Check out Equipment and Supplies to find links and coupon codes for many of the items that I recommend.

Living with a dog who is performing fearful and/or aggressive behaviors can take a huge toll on the entire household. Your journey will have setbacks, regressions and moments of victory – and I will be with you along every step of your journey.

Skilled Companion Dog
Training skills for a skilled companion dog takes time and patience. You will learn and build upon foundations skills throughot the program. This requires a minimum commitment of 7 sessions, but, depending on the skill(s) needed, it may require more sessions.
Skilled Companion Dogs are trained to assist with a variety of physical and/or psychological challenges within the home. They are NOT Service Dogs or Emotional Support Dogs. They are pet dogs who have been trained to support their owner with a variety of simple, directed tasks, as well as provide comfort and emotional support. Examples of what a SKD may be trained for are retrieving dropped items, opening drawers, turning lights on/off, deep pressure therapy or relaxation techniques. They can be trained to alert to nightmares or to retrieve medications; however, they are not specialized in a particular skill and do not have public access or special housing accommodations.
